A simple guide to controlling common scene overlays from the Sandbox Studio View menu. Open the View menu and turn on the Grid, VFX, and Skybox settings needed while editing.

### **Step 1: Select View**

Select the View button in the toolbar above the scene. A menu of editor visibility settings will open.

### **Step 2: Turn on the required settings**

Enable Show Grid, Show VFX, and Show Skybox as needed. Each option can be changed independently.

Return to the View menu whenever you want to hide one of these elements. The checked state indicates which options are currently visible.

**SHOW GRID** Displays the scene grid, which helps with orientation and placement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**SHOW VFX** Displays visual effects while you work in the editor.
**SHOW SKYBOX** Displays the scene skybox in the editor view.

## **What You've Done**

The editor view now shows the Grid, VFX, and Skybox options you enabled.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://studio-docs.sandbox.game/the-editor/how-to-turn-on-grid-vfx-and-skybox.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
